In the course of a fairly interesting life, I have travelled extensively - to every major American and Canadian city, into Central and South America, right across Europe, all the way through Japan, and the length and breadth of Australia and New Zealand. I've visited Morocco and Kenya, Indonesia and Singapore, Thailand and The Seychelles, but I've yet to see India, China, and much of Africa.
Occasionally I've had the time to take a few photographs of subjects other than celebrities, both at home and abroad. This is where I've collected them. As I surf through my archive I'll continue to add new pictures - not all specifically travel related, but it's somewhere to show you pictures other than those that have earned me a living. I can't always remember when or precisely where some of these shots were taken, so occasionally details may be sketchy!
I've received a number of emails asking for my favourite destination. It's a difficult question to answer, since some of the nearest destinations such as France and Italy are my longtime favourites. Further afield, somewhere that is still fascinating and intriguing - even in today's 'global village' - is Japan. The contrast of ancient culture with technological innovation is still engrossing. My other firm favourite is Iceland, which I first visited in the early Nineties. The country's entire population totals a tiny fraction of London's 8 million and that's the attraction - a stunning, breathtaking piece of nature, three hours from London, sparsely populated by mad, lovely people.
Another favourite is Cuba. Once a playground for the rich and famous, its faded glamour, stunning scenery and friendly people still hold an incredible fascination. Finally, Guyana, on the northern coast of South America. This is a country largely covered in rainforest (the first I ever visited) - almost an ecological time capsule, and home to the amazing Kaieteur Falls, the world's highest single drop waterfall. I long to return.
