Under My Thumb' opens the first of two Wembley Stadium shows in my home town. This venue was particularly relevant. My appointment as tour photographer came about at short notice, following a series of encounters and coincidences in Detroit, Washington, London, Aberdeen, and Rotterdam ... culminating in my question to Alvenia Bridges, Mick's right hand woman: "who's the official photographer?". Following the answer "We don't have one" and my response "I'll do it!", I spent a month with the world's biggest band on my first major tour, culminating with Wembley ... after a chat backstage with Mick I stayed for a further month. |
